CONCLUSION

Cataract

Early signs of cataract detected in this age group, should alert the patient to possible lack of sun protection. Other factors such as a diet lacking in fresh fruit, grains and vegetables (low in anti-oxidants), smoking, heavy alcohol consumption, certain medications e.g. cortisone, and poor control of sugar levels in diabetes, can all hasten the formation of cataract. A family history of cataract often is associated with its earlier appearance.
