CONCLUSION

Section (D)

MIDDLE AGE (UP TO SIXTY YEARS)

Most people in this age group are still relatively free of serious eye disease. However, regular eye examinations are important at this age as the first signs of potentially serious eye disease begin to emerge. Routine eye examinations in this age group can also, not uncommonly, lead to detection of undiagnosed systemic diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, elevated lipid levels etc. Most people probably do not realise the importance of eye examinations as a means of detecting disease.
