CONCLUSION

Glaucoma and Diabetic Retinopathy

Glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy are two of the most serious yet preventable eye diseases that affect the elderly. The causes of these diseases are discussed in previous section under "Middle Age Persons", as prevention of these diseases is reliant upon their early detection. Please refer to this section for any recommendations. It is important to realise that detection of early signs of these diseases is only possible through regular eye examinations.
